The Aeropress is a great brewer for home or travel. It's durable (we would say unbreakable), easy to use, and it makes a terrific cup of coffee.
We recommend experimenting, but here's our basic brew recipe for Aeropress to get you started to making a great cup of coffee.
- Place the paper filter in the Aeropress brew basket. Give the filter a simple rinse with water to remove any possible paper taste and to pre-saturate the fibers. Rinse the brewer with hot water as well to pre-heat.
- Add 14 grams of coffee into the Aeropress, ground to a fine filter size.
- Boil water and pour 200g over the coffee.
- Stir 3-4 times to wet all the coffee grounds.
- Insert the plunger to the top of the Aeropress and pull up slightly to create a pressure seal, but do not push down yet. This will prevent you water from leaking through the filter.
- Let the coffee steep for 1:15 minutes.
- Remove the plunger and stir 3 additional times.
- Reinsert the plunger to the top of the Aeropress and place it on your cup. With firm but gentle pressure, press the plunger down to extract your coffee. Stop when you hear a hissing sound, do not press further.
- Enjoy your cup of coffee!
