Yemen Sharqi Haraz Anaerobic Natural

Yemen sits at the origin of coffee itself, the first place it was ever cultivated, traded, and celebrated. Getting exceptional Yemeni coffee out to the world is genuinely difficult. Very little of it exists, and even less of it reaches the quality level of what you're looking at here.

This microlot comes from smallholder farmers organized around the Sharqi Haraz Cooperative in the mountains of Eastern Haraz, grown at elevations between 1,800 and 2,200 meters using heirloom Yemeni cultivars. After harvest, the cherries were fermented anaerobically for 48–72 hours, then moved to raised beds to dry slowly in the sun for 15–20 days. The result is a coffee of extraordinary depth and complexity.

This coffee opens with pomegranate and ripe fig. It's bold, wine-like, dark chocolate underneath.  It's one of the most distinctive coffees we've offered. Only 1,000 lbs of this lot made it to the USA.  We purchased a small allocation. When it's gone, it's gone.
